Expert Tips for Ozora Camping: An Insider’s Guide

If you’re gearing up for Ozora Festival with your camper van, you’re in for a unique adventure. Drawing from the experiences of seasoned festival-goers, we’ve compiled a comprehensive guide to help you navigate camping at Ozora smoothly. Here’s what you need to know about waste disposal, water management, electricity, and more:

WATER DISPOSAL
Regular Trash:
Use a couple of trash bags positioned strategically around your camp. When full, transport them to the nearest trash bin, typically found next to the toilets. There are plenty of bins, so finding one close by should be easy.
Toilet Waste:
Carry your filled waste box to the nearest toilet and empty it into the designated opening. The toilets are traditional non-flush types, so no need to worry about clogs. For an eco-friendly approach, use biodegradable chemicals as the waste is used to fertilize the land post-festival.

WATER MANAGEMENT
Water Refills:
Water filling stations are available and marked on the festival map. These stations have low pressure, making them suitable for small bottles. For faster refills, use the shower cabins which have higher pressure.
Logistics:
A small barrel or 10-liter canisters are recommended for water transport. Consider using a cart with off-road wheels to handle the grassy terrain.
Usage Tips:
Conserve your camper’s water by using the festival showers instead of the onboard facilities.

ELECTRICITY SOLUTIONS
Battery Power:
Equip your camper with battery-powered lights and fully charged power banks for phones and small electronics. Charging stations are available near Pumpui and the main stage but tend to be crowded.
Solar Power:
Investing in a solar solution, like a foldable solar panel and a battery pack, can keep your devices charged and even power a small fridge. This eco-friendly option avoids the hassle and complaints associated with running gas generators.
Pro Tip:
Bring a power outlet extender to maximize the use of the charging points and help others out.
Camp Setup and Stability
Securing Your Camp:
Given the likelihood of storms, ensure all structures are firmly fixed to the ground. Use camping ground nails, hooks, and ropes to secure awnings and tents.
Leveling Your Camper:
Use leveling blocks to deal with the uneven terrain. If you’re renting, check if they provide these, or bring your own.

ADDITIONAL PRACTICAL TIPS
Warm Water for Showers:
Use a pressurized camping shower. It heats up quickly on your van’s roof and provides good pressure with a manual air pump.
Garbage Management:
Separate biowaste in a lidded bucket and other trash in biodegradable bags. This reduces the frequency of trips to the disposal bins.
Cooking:
A camping gas stove is ideal. Stock up on gas canisters for regular cooking and your morning coffee ritual.
Lights and Decorations:
Solar-powered lights can make your camp vibrant at night without draining any resources.

KNOW YOUR LIMITS
Vehicle Capability:
Be aware of your camper van’s limits, especially on challenging terrains like the main hill gravel road or muddy areas. A 4×4 is preferable, but always assess conditions and proceed with caution.
Don’t Overthink:
Remember, the key is to enjoy the festival. Be prepared, but also be flexible and ready to embrace the festival spirit.
By following these expert tips, you can ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience at Ozora Festival. Preparation is crucial, but don’t forget the most important aspect: to have fun and make the most of your time there! Happy camping!
