Illuminate the World of Shadows

By Nedda Magic Advisor – On the first day of November (00:00 – 24:00) we are celebrating the Day of the Dead, Samhain, also known as Halloween or All Hallow’s Eve. We think of our loved ones who had passed away, for one day the door of the other world opens, the world of shadows gets illuminated.

Samhain is a pagan holiday, the root of Halloween. Every year it falls at the midpoint between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice. Today we celebrate the witches’ New Year, the cycle of life-death and even darkness. We’ve already talked about it many times, that, actually, darkness and the underworld always represent our depths, where our fears and ingrained beliefs live.

Today’s humans mostly fear death. On this day we can make it conscious, that everything is dual in this Universe, after life comes death, everything passes away once… which only means a cycle of change. We don’t have to fear changes, for becoming something new we have to ‘die’ in a way. To a lot of ancient tribes, in pagan religions, physically dying did not mean something that we have to fear. They knew about the realm of the unseen, beyond physical reality. They honoured and respected death as birth, a natural part of living. They prepared for the passing as carefully as for the arrival of a soul. They did not make differences between the visible souls, between those who momentarily have a physical body and those who do not. Who we love lives in our hearts with us.

Many people celebrate this day with candles, dressing into black or into something beasty. But do you know what you are entering into? This day is the day of the souls, whether they are ‘living’ or not. The veil between the visible and the unseen is very thin, entities are able to cross over through the spiritual portal opened on Samhain. We can use our spiritual power with more success on this day, all sacred rituals are more powerful. We can get in touch with our higher self, spiritual leaders or even our dead relatives through some ceremonies. These rituals only require pure love without any fear. We can ask our guardians and angles to be with us. Because of the openness of doorways, communication and connecting is easier. We are God’s beautiful Lightworkers and connected in ONE divine Unit.

Ritual for deceased loved ones:

Light a candle for all of your passed relatives, friends, loved ones, who you want to think about and send love energies to. You can use different colours for men and women, or children. Form a circle from candles, and use an incense stick for clearing out the space. Light the candles while thinking of the loved person and praying.

A PRAYER FOR THE FINAL HARVEST

“This prayer honors the end of the harvest, and the dying of the earth, at the Samhain season. Take a few moments to honor the agricultural cycle, and the importance that the earth’s bounty has in our day to day lives.

HARVEST PRAYER

“Corn has been shucked,
grain has been threshed,
herbs have been hung to dry.
Grapes have been pressed,
potatoes have been dug,
beans have been shelled and canned.
 It is the harvest season,
and food is ready for winter.
We will eat, and we will live,
 and we will be grateful.”

“In some Wiccan traditions, by Samhain, the Goddess has entered her incarnation of Crone. She is the Old One, the earth mother, the wise one we turn to when we need advice. She teaches us that sometimes we must let go in order to move on. The God, at Samhain, is the Horned One, the stag of great antlers, the god of the wild hunt. He is the animal that dies so that we may eat, and the grains and corn that once lived in the field before our harvest. We can honor these late-fall aspects of both the Goddess and the God in one ritual.

These processes totally correspond to and are supported by the Scorpio season, and this year even more so by Jupiter in Scorpio (and until Sunday by Mercury in Scorpio as well). These 2 planets give higher resonance to praying by deepening thinking and perception. Mercury represents our thinking and mind, Jupiter is the lord of religions and philosophy and the guardian of the abstract mind. Scorpio is the most mystical sign at the darkest point of the year. We can use these transcendent energies throughout the whole month, especially this day and week with the Full Moon of the Scorpio month (Saturday). A full moon always serve as a meeting point for masculine and feminine energies, as Moon and Sun are facing each other on the 4th of November. We will be more sensitive, spiritual energies will flow stronger through us, around Full Moon we are more aware of each other’s moods and feelings as well. Mercury is changing his position on Sunday into Sagittarius, and we are finishing the last period of the Sagittarius Saturn as well (until December).

Everything is working now to help us reach those depths inside us, which we are able to leave – able to die, we are able to make place for something new: the new us. The stars and planets are preparing us for the next exciting chapter with the rising spiritual energies of Sagittarius. We are living with circulating energies, the only mission is to simply do it with a higher resonance – in a transcended way.

There is always a reason to smile back at the stars 😉
