The Pillars of Mirador 2015: Imagyne
We caught up with some of the artists who’ll be creating around the MIRADOR this year to tell us a bit about themselves and their work. Here’s Imagyne.
After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

– What does visionary art mean to you?
– Visionary Art is my way of understanding all the various shades of light & darkness around me. Everything, every work of art is a mirror of us. Visionary artists stir so much of emotion in us with their concepts, ideas & technical perfection I feel immediately inspired to create and pass on the vibration.
– What are your views and experiences in connection with it?
– I’ve spent hours engrossed in various pieces of visionary art and every time I emerge with new thoughts & ideas. Maybe the idea was always there – but that brilliant piece of art assisted me in opening my channels and became a catalyst in helping me use my creative expression. The flow of visionary art is never-ending and the stories are always magnificent. Finding oneself through visionary art is a process that I think everyone, young & old, together or alone should experience. My fascination with visionary art allowed me to attend a workshop by Robert Venosa & Martinna Hoffman and from then on, my understanding, technique and journey took a whole new level of love, energy and passion which I now attempt to transfer as a person who paints and teaches art.
– What is your own personal vision?
– My vision of art is quite simple actually – it might even be borderline cliched it is purely to create & inspire. Imagyne exists as a pathway to spontaneous colour forms and momentary high fives celebrating imagination. Fun is a crucial part of my journey and as long as that exists, the art will help create new paradigms or maybe a smile.
– What role does visionary art play in the psytrance scene and culture?
– Visionary Art in the psychedelic trance universe has always existed hand in hand. Together the visuals & the sounds walked, jumped, played, getting everybody who saw or heard them to join in, experiment with the creative process and feel time slipping away into something eternal. I started off as part of a decor team for psychedelic gatherings around Bombay & Goa, doing fluro thread work around trees, painting signs and creating a visual sensory experience to compliment the audio frequencies that were being played. Today, to see the dance floor with its laser cut design work, amazing precise dream-like structures accompanied by paintings/creations by some of the best visionary artists from all over the world. Wow! I feel like a child in a playground. I believe that visionary art inspires & merges with the sounds and vice versa and what an individual gets, is nothing short of an out of body experience. It is a journey of evoking emotions & inspiring creativity.
– What piece of art/work are you presenting at the festival this year?
– Imagyne is live art project where my partner Jesika handles the audio side while I interpret her sounds through art. The entire painting is spontaneous. Her sounds direct my visuals and vice versa. This experiment in art & music has been around for about 5 years now and we always aim to push our boundaries at every single performance and we look forward to something astounding at the end. Working with mixed media, forms appear, colours get added and slowly but surely a creation appears. We believe that the journey is of most importance and we hope you have a super fun time at Ozora viewing this process. We will also be conducting an art workshop for children
– Have you been to Ozora before? What are your expectations?
– Ozora is festival very close to my heart. Right from our first Ozora experience ( which was also our honeymoon to having a chaishop in Ozora 2009 I have always felt close to this universe. The flow of energy all around, right from the dancefloor to the shops, everybody has a twinkle in the eye. That’s a complete different level of connection for me. I’ve learnt a lot of life lessons at Ozora and I’m always left with various forms of creative inspiration that I add to my life. A constant state of learning is how I’d like to think we operate. This year I’m really looking forward to participating in the creative art workshops at the Artibarn and attending most of the amazing workshops at the Chambok House. The sound stages do beckon me enticingly and I hope to somehow duplicate my physical self to access all areas of Ozora and try to absorb everything into one singularity
ooooh the possibilities…
